With so many games already on offer and more coming when the PS Vita launches in the US later next month, one would presume sales would be far healthier than they have been in Japan. We know the Japanese market has a different taste when it comes to games, and the list of titles for the Vita certainly seems geared toward the US and European market.
The choice of games is extensive, but there are still those titles that will elude Sony’s latest handheld for a while. However, there are ways to play your PS3 games on the Vita thanks to the Remote Play feature. This feature was thought to work with all PlayStation 3 games, but this is just not the case and requires a jailbreak in order for you to play titles such as BF3 or even Batman: Arkham City.
In the video we have for you below, which we found in this article you can see Battlefield 3 being played, but we have included another video of Red Dead Redemption footage well. It’s always been known that jailbreaking is an innovation, as it shows you just what a device can do. However, don’t get too comfortable with the idea of playing with all PS3 games on the PS Vita, as Sony will find the exploit in 3.55 firmware and put a stop to this feature.
This could be a good thing, because you can see in the video below the amount of lag in the game. We would like to think that Sony will work on an official update to support Remote Play on all PlayStation 3 games; but for now it looks as though you will have to put up with the lag – if you want to jailbreak.
You have to wonder if Sony will be in any rush to put a stop to this jailbreak, as there have been some suggestions this feature could drive up sales of the Vita. In a perfect world, Sony would see how popular such a feature is and then could offer full support once the time is right. However, some gamers believe the latency issue will never go away – are you one of them?
There is another side to this though; if this feature were to be unlocked then this could affect sales of Vita games, as consumers would just be playing their PS3 games on handheld instead. This could be a real dilemma for Sony, as they will be faced with a tough decision, sales of the handled or the games, but which will they choose?
If you are looking for more innovation, then check out the third video, which shows some Homebrews running on the Vita. There are titles such as Zombie Crisis, CSPSP, snes9xTYL and Spider solitaire, but the real gem here has to be Super MarioWorld. What other old-school classics would you like to see running in the PlayStation Vita? Remote Play is just one of a selection of apps ready for download on the PS Vita, here are a few others.
Ma intreb daca in viitor cand se va moda consola , o sa putem juca jocurile de pe ps3 si fara sa detinem un ps3 , ar fi super :O.
