Okay, so I've been promising some PSP CFW Updates for awhile now & haven't been able to get around to it. I've got the best your going to get here though.
A full cfw for 1000/2000(non-88v3) models called 6.39ME-4 that will also dual-boot into LCFW 6.39ProB6. Before you ask...it is better than 5.00m33, 5.03Gen(duh), & 5.50GenD3. It is a full cfw that has almost 100% game compatibility. If your game doesn't load, switch drivers it will work!
A Permanent LCFW for 2000-88v3, 3000-3g/4g models, & PSP-GO called 6.20ProB6(Perma). Since this LCFW has a recovery menu & a Perma patch it is capable of recovering from a semi-brick on 2000-88v3, 3000-3g/4g models, & Go. I've included the necessary downgrader to downgrade your PSP from 6.39/.38/.35/.31 to 6.20 so you can use this.
I didn't forget about the unlucky 3000-7g/9g owners either. While I don't have anything permanent for you. You can still enjoy Dual-Boot LCFW 6.39ProB6 and LCFW 6.39ME-4. Unfortunately, there is no Perma patch, but aside from having to start the fast PRO-Recovery or ME-Launcher upon cold-boot, your good to go too.
If you don't know which module your 3000 has, try the 3000-3g/4g package first. The downgrader will not brick you by downgrading below what your module can handle, it will just refuse to do it. It will say something like md5 error & return to the xmb menu. That is the method I would use. It is much more likely that you have a 3000-3g/4g, but there is an alternative. You could use the 3000-7g/9g package first, load 6.39ProB6, & then use the latest PSPident that I have included. It will tell you the 3000(Xg) version you have. You could simply stay with 6.39ProB6 & 6.39ME-4 if you wanted to, but I would suggest downgrading to 6.20 if possible for the ProB6 Perma. Having the recovery menu in case of semi brick is worth the trouble.
I have included the correct CXMB with the 3rd birthday theme & some great plugins compatible with the firmware pack they are uploaded with. I have also included some great apps with these firmware packs to get you guys started. I have tried to make this as easy as possible for you with simple drag & drop action. I have also included a step by step set of instructions for each firmware.
That being said, you should backup the contents of your mem stick to your computer before starting to install any of these firmwares. I would then format your mem stick to keep your files from being too fragmented. If you don't format your stick, then at least disable your plugins & do not overwrite your .txt files by mistake. I will flame you into the ground if you blame me for data you didn't backup. I have used the downgrader & each of these firmwares. I consider them to be about as safe as you can get. Yes, even the Perma Patch for 6.20ProB6. Most of the people who claim a brick whenever the perma patch is mentioned haven't even used it. If it doesn't work right for you, you can always hold SELECT+START+X+O as you turn on your psp to restore the vshorig.prx. If somehow you manage to screw up your psp, don't blame me. Thousands of people have used these installers without problem, it is probably user error. I have no problem answering questions & helping with anything you don't understand. If there is a problem with your psp, whether user error, battery failure, or whatever, I am here to help. That is, provided you are polite, provide me with whatever info is needed(psp model & firmware you are on & trying to install), & are truthful about what happened to cause the problem. We all make mistakes & I can't help if I don't know what actually went wrong. I might not be able to answer immediately, but I will answer.
I know it may seem like I'm a little harsh, but I'm putting this up to help people. I've honestly gotten pretty jaded with the hit and run leechers & people who comment & complain just for drama. That's the biggest reason I don't upload on here like I used to do. It takes time to put a package like this together with no errors & type out instructions for people who may or may not know what they are doing. Please remember that, before commenting on things you don't know as fact or turning the upload off before giving what you get.

Hey everybody, in this package we are going to install 6.20ProB6(Perma) on your 2000(88v3), 3000-3g/4g.
First thing's first, backup your mem stick to your computer. It would be best if you format it afterwards, but if you decide not to you should disable all plugin's before going any further. Please remember not to overwrite your .txt files in seplugins. Now drag the folders: CXMB, PSP, & seplugins onto the root of your mem stick. When it asks to overwrite say yes! If you formatted your stick there is nothing for it to overwrite except empty folders. If you didn't well don't overwrite your .txt files, but let it overwrite anything else. The plugins & apps included are the most up to date as of June 01, 2011.
If you are on a firmware higher than 6.20, you will need to use the downgrader. You will need to be on either 6.39,6.38,6.35,or6.31 so you can downgrade to 6.20. If you are on another OFW such as 6.37 you will have to use the 6.39 update in the PSP_639_FW_UPDATE folder to update to 6.39 OFW, then replace the 6.39 update with the 6.20 update that was originally there. It is necessary for the downgrader to work. Now just go to the downgrader on the menu & run it. Follow the prompts & you should end up on 6.20 OFW. If it says MD5 error, try it again. If it doesn't work the second time, you probably have a 7g/9g module in your 3000 & you'll have to use the 3000-7g/9g firmware package. Now if you are on a firmware lower than 6.20, use the 6.20 update to get to 6.20 OFW. You can just delete the downgrader & 6.20 OFW Update once you are on 6.20.
Go to ProUpdate in the xmb game menu and run it. It's easy just hit X when you are given the choice. You will boot back into the XMB on 6.20ProB6. Now go to the ProPermanent icon and launch it. It will ask if you want to install the patch, just hit X. It will then ask if you want to do a test run. I would do it! If you boot back to the XMB & are still on ProB6 (just hit select to see if you have vsh menu), you are good. Just run ProPermanent again, but instead of hitting X for the test just hit O to bypass the test. This is going to put a backup vshorig.prx on the root of your memstick. BACK IT UP TO YOUR COMPUTER & LEAVE A COPY ON THE STICK! This is in case of a problem later or if you just want to uninstall the perma patch. If you try to restore or uninstall without this on your stick it can cause a brick. As long as you don't lose this file you are fine though. If for some reason you did lose it you would have to update & downgrade again to restore the vshmain.prx. As long as everything went fine, you should now be on Permanent LCFW 6.20 ProB6. You can delete the ProUpdate & ProPermanent from your mem stick. You won't need them again unless you want to uninstall ProB6 or the perma patch.
I included a couple pretty good apps that I couldn't live without. Homebrew Sorter GUI allows you to pick the order that your stuff appears under Game. It's super useful if you have a ton of stuff on you memstick. I included the latest revision of PSPident so you can know all about your psp hardware. I included Seplugins manager which is a great tool for managing your plugins from the xmb.
I have also included some great plugins in this package. In the seplugins folder you put on your card is CXMB for your custom themes, Boost.prx to make your audio louder than ever, bright.prx to unlock extra levels of brightness for your screen, prxshot.prx for taking screenshots without having to have the game paused. Dayviewer.prx for some great info to be displayed at the top of your screen, & mp3play_lite.prx to be able to listen to your own audio during gameplay, the TempAR & TempAR_Lite plugins which is the best in-game cheat engine around. I also included the PSP3d plugin. If you have a set of those red & blue 3d glasses get ready to enjoy a bunch of games in 3d.
1.CXMB is automatic- just enable & select like any other theme.
2.Boost is automatic- You can also hit home+Rtrigger to allow headphone & ext speakers at the same time.
3.Bright is automatic- Just use your screen button to increase brightness like crazy
4.prxshot is the note button- Press note button to take a screeshot of whatever is on the screen at the time.
5.Dayviewer is automatic- it will pop up at the top of your xmb menu.
6.mp3play_lite- LTrigger+RTrigger+[] will start/pause the music in your ms0:/music folder. LTrigger+Rtrigger with up, down, left, & right will handle the sub-menu. LTrigger+RTrigger+START will diable the controls so you don't shut your music off by accident.
7.TempAR- is enabled in game by pressing HOME+RTrigger, then set your own buttons under the prx settings screen. The cheat.db files are the most up to date as of june 01, 2011.
8.psp3d(2.1)- Hold start (in game) for 5 seconds to open the 3d menu. Not all games are supported but it's really cool for the ones that are.
